During lunch one of them was venting about her new position at work and how it's been making her stressed out and how she's starting to take it out on her husband & son. The other one said her life is so crazy that she didn't even want to talk about it. There was a pause in the conversation and they both looked at me and asked what was new with me. I told them that I was good - I usually never have anything to complain to them about (since I'm not mentioning the infertility stuff). And I ended up giving them an update on our basement finishing project (which my amazing husband has worked so hard on). While I was talking about the basement - I couldn't help but think that based on what they see, they just may be thinking that my life is perfect. But looks of course are deceiving! They don't know that there's a hole in our hearts that only a baby can fill. But even despite that hole in our heart, I wouldn't trade places with them for the world. I know that we are in a good place in our lives and definitely emotionally, mentally, and financially ready for our family to start. They are wonderful mothers and someday I hope to join them in the world of motherhood sooner than later!
One of my friends also shared a link with me today - another celebrity, Elisabeth Rohm (actress from Law & Order), is coming forward with her IVF secret. I don't watch Law & Order, so I didn't really know of her until now. Check out this link if you would like to read her story. I really appreciated that my friend shared the link with me and quickly shared it with my IVF buddy. Not that we want others to have to go through it, but it is comforting to hear other people's stories.
In closing, I'd like to welcome Caroline Reese into the world - she was born to our dear friends on March 6, 2011. :)
